Namu Dai Bosa

Collages by Armando Sáenz Carrillo

December 6 2014 to March 6, 2015

Namu dai bosa (Union with the Great Enlightened) comprises 6 series of exquisite miniature collages which bring to mind the pithiness of Japanese Haikus.

It is an exercise in simplicity and intuition in which the elements used and the construction of each piece reflect the Zen tenets which the artist espouses.

About the Artist

Armando Sáenz Carrillo (1955) is a Mexican artist who was born and raised in Mexico City where he studied Graphic Communication at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas (UNAM).

He is known for the creation of visual books, a skill he has imparted through a series of workshops at the ESAY in Mérida, Yucatán.

Armando began to do collage at an early age and after ten years of producing large-scale collages, he turned to the intimacy of the small format which he presents in this exhibition.
